Sam Biondolillo is a multifaceted theatrical professional who has established himself as a prominent figure in New York City's Broadway scene. Originally hailing from the scenic mountains of Vermont, he has built an impressive career that spans producing, design, and theatrical innovation.
As the Co-President of the Tony Award-winning SAMS Entertainment, Biondolillo has demonstrated his keen eye for successful theatrical ventures. His Broadway producing portfolio includes several notable productions, including the 2024-2025 production of "Our Town" at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, the Tony Award-winning revival of "Merrily We Roll Along" at the Hudson Theatre (2023-2024), and "Gutenberg! The Musical!" at the James Earl Jones Theatre (2023). He also served as a producer for the 2023 Broadway revival of "Sweeney Todd."
Beyond his role at SAMS Entertainment, Biondolillo serves as the CFO and Co-Founder of Matchstick Theatrical, a company dedicated to fostering new theatrical investments while emphasizing education for emerging investors. This commitment to nurturing fresh talent and capital in the theater industry demonstrates his dedication to the sustainability and growth of Broadway.
His international experience includes work as a projectionist for "Becks on Broadway" in Japan and as a lighting supervisor for "Grease" in Mexico City, showcasing his technical expertise across borders. In the United States, his regional theatre lighting credits include productions such as "Funny Girl" at Maine State Music Theatre, "Cabaret" at Hinsdale Playhouse, and both parts of "Henry IV" at Connecticut Repertory Theatre.
As the Owner and Manager of SJB Production Services, Biondolillo has expanded his influence beyond traditional theater, providing corporate design services and theater restoration consultation. One of his notable restoration projects includes extensive labor at the former Sweet Arts space in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
His versatility is further demonstrated through his work in television and special events. He has contributed to productions such as "The Golden Eagle Awards" at Boston College and "A Night With Taylor Swift" at the Boston Wang Theatre. His portfolio also includes various productions for E&J media productions, where he worked on events for high-profile clients including the MLB Players Association and United Justice Coalition.
In the Off-Broadway sphere, Biondolillo has co-produced "The Frogs" in London's Off-West End and "Othello" at the prestigious Park Avenue Armory. His involvement in touring productions includes work on the first national tours of "Ms. Doubtfire" (2023-) and "Rocktopia" (2018-).
Other notable theatrical credits include lighting design for productions of "The Addams Family," "In the Heights," and the original production of "The Curious History of George," demonstrating his continued commitment to both established works and new theatrical ventures.
